Condition
One side has a hole broken in it and mended with a small irregular shaped piece missing. Thin deposit of whitish mud in some spots. The paint worn away, esp. one handle and beak.
Description
False necked amphora. Pear shaped body rising out of a small foot, slightly profiled and concave beneath. Beak on one side. False neck with handles from high on shoulder to top of false neck, bent sharply. Decoration in bright red. Three bands around vase, one just below handles, one on under belly, one above foot, composed of 4-6 fine lines between two heavy stripes. Lowest stripe very broad so that it covers whole of base and foot. Waved rings at lip and base of spout; ring at bottom of false neck; top of false neck and backs of handles covered with color except on bottom top of false neck where there is reserved rings. Shoulder decorated with triangular ornaments almost like quadrants of a target of 6-8 circles. One side rests on upper ring apex to 1.

Wheel made. Clay light buff with somewhat lighter slip, decoration in bright lustrous red.
